About ccount
Built because expense splitting shouldn't cost money.
The Story
ccount started with a simple frustration: every expense splitting app either locked useful features behind a paywall or turned into something far more complex than the problem it was solving.
Splitting a dinner bill or tracking a trip with friends is a basic need. It doesn't require a fintech platform, bank integrations, or a premium subscription. It just needs to work — clearly, reliably, and for free.
So we built ccount. A tool for friends. Not a fintech play.
Our Philosophy
We believe core utility shouldn't be paywalled. Splitting expenses is something people do because they trust each other — the app that helps them shouldn't break that trust by holding features hostage.
Small team
We are a small, independent team — no investors to please, no growth metrics to chase. We build what users need.
No VC funding
Bootstrapped and proud of it. We answer to our users, not a board of directors with exit expectations.
Free because we can
Core utility — splitting expenses with friends — is something everyone should have access to without a subscription.
No paywalled features
Everything that makes ccount useful is free. The optional ad-free upgrade only removes ads. That's it.
How We Stay Free
Running a reliable app costs money. Here's how we cover it without compromising on what matters.
Small, non-intrusive banner ads
Free users see small banner ads on 3 screens in the app. No popups, no video ads, no interstitials. Ads are served by Google AdMob in non-personalized mode — Google may still collect some device-level data for ad delivery.
Affordable ad-free option
Remove all ads for $0.99/month or $6.99/year. Cancel anytime.
That's the whole business model
Wait — there is no business model. We all have real jobs, but we like to build small things we actually care about. The ads just keep the servers running. It might buy us a lunch, but it won't buy us a car.
No Gimmicks
No bank integrations that harvest your transaction data. No vendor partnerships that surface "recommended" products in your expense feed. No dark patterns designed to nudge you toward a paid tier.
The core features — adding expenses, splitting, settling, multi-currency, budgets, reports, offline mode — stay solid and free. That's the deal.
